Voice of Kashmir

Not in kashmir at my layover in Dubai, nice place to visit and waste time.

Slight difference in architecture, no?

Met a person by the name of Shaukat Ali and unfortunately he lost his eldest sister and nephew in the earthquake says there isnt much left, the anticipation is building. Hopefully will be seeing all the team members soon.

Kashmir 2007 Team Member

Zain Ali is currently finishing his last year of undergraduate studies at Rutgers University where he majors in Economics and Middle Eastern Studies. He founded an award-winning chapter of Oxfam America at Rutgers Uni. which increases peoples awareness and activism on issues such as Sudan, the Millennium Development Goals, and the ONE campaign. He is working on a university-sponsored research project concerning the socio-economic situation of the Kashmiri people of Pakistan. [zain.a55@gmail.com]

Kashmir 2007 Team Member

Fariba Kharazi is a native of New Jersey currently completing her freshman year as an honors student at Rutgers with a double major in Middle Eastern Studies and Biological Sciences. She is an active member of Oxfam Rutgers, the Persian Cultural Club at RU, the National Society of Collegiate Scholars (NSCS), and hold the position of historian of the Premedical-Society at RU. In high school she was Secretary of Crescent Club, a Muslim community service organization. She was also an active member of the Somerset County Youth Council, a service group in her hometown. She has also volunteered at an orphanage in Tabriz, Iran during the summer of 2005. [fkharazi@eden.rutgers.edu]

Parisa Kharazi is a native of New Jersey and is currently a freshman at Rutgers University. She is a Biological Sciences major and is working on getting a Certificate in International Studies. She is an active member of Oxfam Rutgers and has participated in and helped organize a Hunger Banquet, Fair Trade Sales, and benefit concert. Parisa is also a part of the Emerging Leaders Institute (ELI). Parisa is currently working on a project in ELI to help street children and orphans in Tanzania financially and make jewelry for girls in Africa and Kashmir. [pkharazi@eden.rutgers.edu]
